Reintegration

Building the bridge back

Alternative Provision shouldn't become another place to get stuck. That's why we think about what comes next, right from the start.

Reintegration is a process

It might begin with

  • Meeting a trusted member of school staff
  • Visiting the school when the building is quiet
  • Accessing one activity or lesson
  • Working alongside the young person in a safe space
  • Gradually increasing attendance
  • Transferring successful regulation and learning strategies

The aim is to help the young person feel they can belong again

Reconnect with education, successfully move forward

What's next for the young person?

  • Returning to their existing school
  • Transitioning into a new school
  • Increasing successful access to school
  • Moving into college or post-16 education
  • Progressing towards greater independence
  • Exploring new opportunities

Every route forward looks a little different.

We build the bridge together

The destination stays in sight, the route belongs to the young person and we accompany them every step of the way.

Working together

If reintegration is the goal, we work collaboratively with the young person, their family and school.

Understanding barriers

Together we explore what made education difficult, what's different now, and what would help.

School relationships

We share successful strategies, support transitions, and build relationships with school staff.

Review and adapt

As attendance increases, we review progress together and adapt the plan when needed.
